What to watch out for
- Code authorship vs. code translation. Insist that calculations are authored against the project code, not translated from IS afterwards.
- Senior reviewer presence. Cheap engineering is rarely the cheapest engineering. Ask who signs the calculations.
- Time-zone advantage, not handicap. Confirm overlap windows and live coordination cadence.
- IP & data handling. Ensure NDAs cover model files, drawing sets and design assumptions.
- Local statutory sign-off. Indian consultancies typically deliver design intent — final stamping is by the licensed engineer in the project jurisdiction.
